No
matter your political position, you most likely were impressed with the results
of this past Super Tuesday on March 4th. I honestly did not think
that the election would take the turn that it did. There are those that thought
that Senator Clinton would not do well and would most likely drop out of the
race after Tuesday, I sadly agreed with them. This of course did not happen.
Senator Clinton came out winning three contests out of four and sweeping the
states of Ohio and Texas. While her victory only put a small dent in Senator
Obama’s delegate lead, it definitely showed that she is still in the race.
Senator
Clinton will now work to build momentum and show that she is the most electable
candidate. If she can do this and obtain backing from super-delegates she may
indeed pull out of her recent slump and gain the nomination. Whether you are
republican or democratic and no matter which candidate you favor, you must
admit that this race has been one of the most interesting seen in our lifetime.
Besides its historical significances, it has truly been a contest of undeniable
charisma and true political flavor. I for one am looking forward to the
upcoming contest to see just how well Senator Clinton fares, especially in the
state of Pennsylvania.
I wanted to take a moment to talk about Dealing with Stress when working from home. Let's face it; working from home isn't always easy, especially when you are trying to care for a family in the process. Your work needs to be done, the laundry needs to be folded, the house needs to be cleaned and your family needs your attention. But, the fact is you are only one person and it is very easy to spread yourself thin in this situation. All of these things can lead to stress when can make it even more difficult to accomplish everything.
We need to realize that we must take a little time for ourselves in order to be all the things we need to be. If we allow stress to get the best of us, our work will not be completed, our houses will become disorderly (even more so than they are now) and our families will be left with a feeling of abandonment. I know that it is hard to relax when you have so much on your plate and what doesn't seem like enough time to complete it, but making sure that you’re mentally able to handle all the tasks at hand is important.
When you are feeling stressed, take the time to relax, even if only for a few minutes. Take a walk with the kids, sit quietly in a room and drink a cup of tea or even try some simple meditation-like breathing techniques to calm yourself. Find something that works for you and then do it. You will find that taking a few minutes to rejuvenate yourself will do wonders. Think about it for just a moment, if you let yourself become overwhelmed with stress, how much are you really going to accomplish?
